Stupid is as stupid…….is

Here are some of my favorite annoying situations that I’ve dealt with (and continue to deal with).  By favorite annoying situation, of course, I mean situations that make me want to shove my head through some dry wall.

 

When someone asks you questions about other hotels in your area

When a pissed off guest calls and leaves you a voicemail without explaining what the issue is

When someone wants a room and you tell them you’re sold out so they respond with, “are you sure?”

When a guest tells you that the authorization of $75 for incidentals over drafted their account and they can’t pay their rent now.

When a guest wants to you take their valet charge off because they’ve been waiting an hour for their car to come up….and its been sitting in the driveway for a half hour.

When someone walks into the restaurant and asks “Do we just seat ourselves” as they are standing next to the sign that clearly states “Please wait to be seated”

When you quote someone a rate and they ask if you could do any better

 When a rewards guest wants an upgrade and tells you they don’t care that you’re sold out or that you have to downgrade someone else in order for them to get it

When a guest booking a room requests 15 banquet chairs, candles, extra pillows, blankets and towels — and they tell you there will only be two guests staying in the room.
